Lydia A. Loving, 88 Dateline: Norton, MA Lydia A. (Chase) Loving, age 88, of Norton, passed away unexpectedly, July 19, 2014 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the wife of the late Sam P. Loving. Lydia was born in Attleboro, January 30, 1926, and was a graduate of Attleboro High School. She and her husband, Sam, were married in Attleboro in 1946. Mrs. Loving retired as a bracelet maker after many years at Finberg Manufacturing. She continued to own and operate Sam’s Stamp Shop after Sam’s death, along with her son, David E. Loving. She was a past Worthy Matron of Hope Chapter #41, O.E.S., and active member of the Second Congregational Church. Lydia was known for her fierce independence and playful humor and delighted in seeing a smile or up-raised eyebrow in response to her stories. She is survived by her son David E. Loving of Mansfield and his wife Nancy Wall, grandchildren Ken Loving of San Diego, CA and his wife Vine; Dana (Loving) Cyr and her husband Randy Cyr of Falmouth, ME; and Pam Loving and Christopher Dube of Everett, MA and four great grandchildren. Sister of the late Elsie (Chase) Rogers of Attleboro, Ruth (Chase) Moser of Providence, Arthur “Sonny” Chase, Jr., of Florida and Walter Chase of Attleboro. Daughter of the late Arthur C. Chase and Lena B. (Hill) Chase. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend her memorial service at the Second Congregational Church, 50 Park Street, Attleboro, on Saturday, July 26, at 11:00 am. Brockton – Robert F. Lawrence, Sr. 84, died Wednesday July 30 after a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of 52 years to the late Jean R. (O’Gorman) Lawrence. Born in Boston he was the son of the late Melvin and Catherine (McGuire) Lawrence. He was a proud Veteran having served as a Corporal in the US Army from 1951-1953. Prior to his retirement he had proudly served on the Boston Police Department, for over 32 years. Robert was a longtime resident of Brockton where he and his wife Jean raised their 5 children and were well known for the Christmas decorations at their home, attracting visitors from all over the area. He was talented jewelry maker and craftsman and happily shared his talents with family and friends, and had enjoyed cooking for everyone as well, and had enjoyed his many vacations to the New Hampshire and White Mountains. He loved to visit with family and never hesitated to offer his help. He was truly a kind hearted man and his goal was to help anyone he could. He will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving children Karen Corcoran of Georgia, Cheryl Gouthro and her husband John of Scituate, Robert Lawrence, Jr. and his wife Jane of Attleboro, Paul Lawrence and his fiancée Connie of Tennessee and Christine Poillucci and her husband James of Assonet. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. His services will be held Tuesday August 5 at 9 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 10 AM in St. John’s Church, East Bridgewater. Burial will follow in Central Cemetery, East Bridgewater. Visiting hours will be held Monday August 4 from 4-8 PM.

ATTLEBORO – Barbara A. (Butler) Botelho, wife of the late Joseph R. Botelho, died at the Life Care Center of Attleboro on Sept. 4, 2014. She was 81. Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Alice (Burton) Butler. A 1951 graduate of Taunton High School, she later received degrees in business and education from Bridgewater State University and Bryant College. Employed as a business manager by the New Attleboro Reality Co. for over twenty-five years, she had previously taught second grade at the Bliss School in Attleboro, and had worked for the former Fernandes Supermarkets. She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Attleboro. Mrs. Botelho enjoyed camping, skiing and spending time at her vacation home in Madison, NH. She cherished the company of her family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, Michael J. Botelho and his wife Diane Blagman of Potomac, MD and Joseph R. Botelho, Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Berkley; three daughters, Sandra M. Childs and her husband Brad, and Susan McNary and her husband James, all of Attleboro, and Sally Waitt and her husband Tom of Sheridan, IN; fourteen grandchildren; a niece and a nephew. She was also the sister of the late Thomas Butler. Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Thursday, Sept. 11th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church, Taunton at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Taunton. Deborah A. Harris, 53 Dateline: Mansfield, MA Deborah A. (Burlone) Harris, age 53, of Mansfield, formerly of Foxboro passed away on Monday, September 29, 2014 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of John L. Harris to whom she was wed for 15 years. Born in Norfolk, Virginia on May 26, 1961, she was a loving daughter of Tony and Julie (Wojdag) Burlone of Brooksville, Florida. She grew up in Foxboro and was a graduate of Foxboro High School. Debbie spent the majority of her working career in the food industry. She was a waitresses at several well known area eating establishments; including the 99 Restaurant in Canton and Morin’s Diner in Attleboro. She was an angel that touched everyone’s heart that she met and loved to make them laugh. She especially enjoyed gardening and spending time with friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was the dear sister of Cheryl Sullivan and her husband Craig of Walpole and Lisa Burlone and her boyfriend Brian Sherman of Foxboro. She was the cherished sister in law of Daniel Harris and his wife Cheryl of Taunton. She was the adoring aunt of Zachary and Brittany Sullivan and Ryan and Blake Harris. She is also survived by her best friend of over twenty years; Robin Bryant of Plainville, her beloved dog “Troubles Michael”, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Mark P. Hickey, a 3 year resident of North Attleboro and former 6 year resident of Mansfield and longtime resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at his father’s home in Charlestown following a 2 year courageous battle with cancer. He was 44 years old. Mark was born in Boston on June 18, 1970, a son of Robert J. Hickey and Catherine E. (Gearin) Hickey. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated at St. Francis De Sales Parochial School and graduated from Christopher Columbus High School in Boston in 1988. Mark worked many years as a truck driver for several companies including Door to Door Company, Makepeace Company in Brighton and more recently until his health began to decline for Cooper Fabrics and Penny Lane Transportation. Mark enjoyed the competition of paintball and was associated with the Silent Assassin Squad and GSD paintball team. Mark is the adored husband of 6 years to Theresa A. (Ignacio) Hickey. He is the loving father to Reihly, Shane, Markie, Eric, Matthew and the late Ethan. He is the beloved son of Robert J. “Bob” Hickey of Charlestown and the late Catherine E. “Kay” (Gearin) Hickey. He is the beloved brother of Robert G. Hickey and his wife Phyllis of Charlestown and Kevin C. Hickey of Charlestown. He is the loving uncle to Lindsay Kenny, Timmy Hickey and Matthew Hickey. TAUNTON – Jose “Djidjinho” Fidalga, husband of Francelina (Baptista) Fidalga, died unexpectedly at his Taunton home on Oct. 16, 2014. He was 77. Born in Brava, Cape Verde Island, he was the son of the late Nicolau and Benvinda (Barros) Fidalga. Raised and educated in Cape Verde, he moved to Taunton thirty-five years ago and has been a resident ever since. Mr. Fidalga was employed by Attleboro’s Leach & Garner for many years, retiring in 2002. He was a member of Christ the Cornerstone Church. Carpentry was Djidjinho’s most enjoyable hobby. He loved to make people laugh and he always carried a smile. In addition to his wife, he leaves three daughters, Benvinda Teixeira and Ermelinda DaRosa, both of Taunton and Aduzinda Rodrigues of East Providence; two stepsons, Jorge Silva and Danny Pina, both of Taunton; a stepdaughter, Niceia Duarte of Pawtucket; two sisters, Candida Pina and Ana Costa, both of Pawtucket; eighteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Maria Lomba. Funeral services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Monday, Oct. 20th at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Mayflower Hill Cemetery. Rockett of North Attleborough, MA, Pamela Rice of Attleboro, MA, Tina and Valerie Rockett of North Attleborough, MA, Deborah Hudson and Darlene Holland of SC. He also leaves his step-children, Donald Shade of North Attleborough, MA, David Shade of Norton, MA, Pamela Martin of Carver, MA, and Kimberly Donovan of Carver, MA. Combined, he left 21 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild. His siblings are Catherine Landry of North Attleborough, MA, Shirley Semple of Garner, NC, and Timothy Rockett of Union City, PA. Predeceased Edward are his brothers, William Roy Rockett, Robert J. Rockett, a sister, Jeannette Morgan, and a daughter, Shirley Baker. He also left many nieces and nephews in the North Attleborough, Attleboro, Needham, MA, Pawtucket, RI, areas, plus Maine, North Carolina and Ohio. In his youth, he served in the National Guard for 7 years, and was employed by the North Attleborough Highway Department, Robert Munroe Contractor, M.F. Cash (both of North Attleborough) and retired from Simeone Corp. He was also a member of Laborers Union Local 138. Wake will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, (Route 58), Carver, on Monday, October 27, 2014, from 4:00-8:00 PM. Hudson, MA Madelyn H. (Hunter) Collins, 94, of Hudson, died on Friday, October 31st at the Genesis Milford Health Center. She was the beloved wife of 54 years to the late William H. Collins Jr. who died in 2001. Madelyn was born and raised in Troy, NY, daughter of the late Frederick J. and Loretta (Fagan) Hunter. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in Troy, NY. She later attended Oswego State College in New York. During WWII, Madelyn was affiliated with the FBI as an expert fingerprint analyst. Prior to moving to Hudson, she was a kindergarten teacher at Saint Patrick’s School in Watertown, NY. She was a member of the former Christ the King Parish in Hudson; member of Saint Michael’s Parish in Hudson; member of the Ladies Sodality with both Christ King and St. Michael’s; member of the Legion of Mary and Rosary Society of Sackets Harbor, NY. She is survived by her children, Mary Weber of Edmond, OK, Christine Proven of Ogdensburg, NY, Carol Shattuck of Attleboro, MA, Loretta Collins-Noferi of Milford, MA and William H. Collins III of Scotia, NY. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Coffee of Rosswell, GA; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Frederick Hunter, Dorothy Smith, Loretta Walsh and Margaret Miele. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 4th at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Michael’s Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Marlboro. Wayne Marshall Derby, Sr., 54, of Attleboro, died Monday, October 27, 2014 at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in Needham on February 23, 1960, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Ruth C. (Fales) Derby. Wayne was a resident of Attleboro and Norton for most of his life and graduated from Norton High School in 1978. A commercial truck driver for many years, he was currently driving for Owens & Minor in Franklin where he has worked for the past 12 years. Wayne loved sailing and just being on the water. He is survived by his fiancée, Cindy Long of Attleboro, two sons, Wayne Derby, Jr. of Attleboro and Patrick Derby and his wife Renee of Franklin, the mother of his two sons and loving friend Kathy Derby of Attleboro, a daughter Brittney Long of Attleboro and two grandsons, Jacob Derby and Alexander Martins. Carol J. Amirault, 74 Dateline: North Attleboro, MA Carol J. (Aker) Amirault, age 74, of North Attleboro, passed away surrounded by the embracing love of her family on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Wrentham. Born in Newton, MA on December 25, 1939, she was a loving daughter of the late Charlotte J. (Hammond) Mullen and the late Welton Aker. Carol grew up in the Allston and Dorchester neighborhoods of Boston and was a graduate of St. Patrick’s High School in Roxbury. After raising her adoring family, she returned to school at Massasoit Community College in Brockton; receiving an Associates Degree as a Registered Nurse. Prior to retiring, she had worked at the Goddard Hospital in Stoughton and at the Hillside Adult Day Health Center in Mansfield. She was a talented artist and prior to nursing had taught ceramics in Norton for over 20 years. Carol was a very active member of the American Cancer Society, and was recognized for her faithful service to the organization with an award, which was presented to her at the White House in Washington. Before living in North Attleboro, Carol was a former longtime resident of Foxboro and Wareham, and previously had made her home in Norton. She was a former member of St. Mary’s Church in Norton and a former member of the Wareham Lodge of Elks; where she worked on the veterans committee. She is survived by devoted children; Patricia A. Metzger and her husband Brian of North Attleboro, Paul G. Amirault of West Hollywood, CA, Michael E. Amirault and his wife Gloria of Lexington, Laura J. Kischitz and her husband Andy of Bolton, and Christine M. Bride and her husband Joseph of San Diego, CA. She was the former wife of Paul B. Amirault of Revere. She was the sister of Donna Good of Denver, CO and the late Maria Plovnick and Mary Masterson. She is also survived by her cherished 11 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was the beloved grandmother of the late Christopher Amirault. Her Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Monday November 24th at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. ATTLEBORO/TAUNTON – Francisco D. Camara, longtime Attleboro resident, died at the Life Care Center of Raynham on Nov. 21, 2014. He was 74. Born in Madeira Island, Portugal, he was the son of the late Manuel and Ludovina (Teixeira) Camara. He moved to Taunton as a child and attended Taunton schools, later serving in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Francisco earned an associate’s degree in business from Massasoit Community College. Employed by the Foxboro Company in East Bridgewater for many years, he later worked for Texas Instruments before retiring at the age of 65. He was a communicant of Attleboro’s St. Vincent de Paul Parish. In his spare time, Francisco enjoyed taking road trips and visiting relatives and friends. Survivors include two brothers, Manuel Camara, Jr. and Joaquim Camara both of Taunton; three sisters, Maria B. Moniz and Marie F. Camara, both of Taunton and Maria D. Cote of Attleboro; and many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great grandnieces and great grandnephews. He was also the brother of the late Joseph, John and Alfredo Camara. Jon A. “Jack” Foster, Sr., 68, of Attleboro, passed away suddenly on Friday, November 21, 2014 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of 49 years to Carol (Coggins) Foster. Born in Milford on April 2, 1946, he was the son of the late John D. and Anna Maria (Marcolongo) Foster. Mr. Foster was a resident of Attleboro for the past twenty years and formerly resided in Franklin. He had been the manager at both Mike’s Truck Stop and Plainville Truck Stop in Plainville for many years. Besides his wife, he is survived by three children, Jon Foster, Jr of Norwood, Kim Ford of Blackstone and Andrea MacNeil and her husband Bob of Bellingham. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, one great-grandson. He was the brother of the late Susan Fanning. Donald has worked at the Cambridge Health Alliance in Cambridge for the past 15 years and the last 5 years as Director of Network Engineering. He was a member of the Rockingham Christian Church, in Salem, NH. Beloved husband of Jeannie Cass. Devoted father of Matthew R. Peterson and Holly R. Peterson both of New Hampshire. Cherished son of Richard Peterson and his companion Diana Wojcik of Medford and the late Julia (Sullivan) Peterson. Brother of Joseph M. Peterson of Medford, Scott W. Peterson and his wife Marcelle of Attleboro. Uncle of Allie Peterson. Also survived by many loving family and friends. Friend of Bill W. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Monday at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 4-8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
